Local Artist Stacy Lewis produced a wonderful watercolor of Laelaps (Dryptosaurus).
This is a 12 inch tall x 16 inch wide print on heavy paper stock.
"A tribute to the great Charles R. Knight's painting "Leaping Laelaps" (below), created in 1897 and one of the first depictions of dinosaurs as active creatures rather than sluggish plodding behemoths. Fossil evidence of Laelaps (now called Dryptosaurus) is somewhat fragmentary and any full body reconstruction must rely on details from other tyrannosaurids. A skeletal mount in similar pose is located at the New Jersey State Museum.
